![]() ![]() ![]() I really wish though instead of Windows going down the rediculous W8 path and taking ages to get back to W10 (a reasonably good OS) that Ms had developed XP further - and the short lived XP 64 bit edition should have been more promoted.Īpart from the fact that my hardware would cost a HUGE amount of money to replace - and why should I -it works perfectly well and the technology for writing analog to Vinyl blanks hasn't changed over the years and the modern software is a hideous cludge as well why on earth should I even think of switching / upgrading. I understand completely - it's amazing that when I have a small business making bespoke Vinyls, CD's and Minidiscs for people (business while small is amazingly popular) - this old stuff has a huge (and growing) number of adherents and to produce the stuff - with 100% perfectly good hardware - I'm forced to rely on Windows XP which still is giving sterling service running as a VM. I'm constantly trying to do my best to operate securely and nowadays quite frequently I'm having to spend quite a lot of time mending my tools or learning how to use new ones rather than becoming more productive or secure.Hi there What I find most irritating is that although I've been involved with computers for over 50 years, I'm far more interested in using them as a tool for achieving something else. I'm constantly trying to do my best to operate securely and nowadays quite frequently I'm having to spend quite a lot of time mending my tools or learning how to use new ones rather than becoming more productive or secure. If there is anywhere to upload it to I'll happily do so.īy the way the drive wiper for full drives and free space only have been removed in the latest version of Ccleaner. I've installed it a couple of times both for myself and friends. In the event of a problem these drop straight in to the computer and we're back up and running.įortunately I had a non sanitised copy of my downloads folder on a backup disc which still had the Minitools PW 10.2 file. I do my major backups of the operating system by producing a couple of clones of the operating system disc. ![]() I too fell foul of the discontinuation of Partition copy and also, more importantly for me, Disc copy on Partition Wizard. The GUI for Gparted -there's also a bootable stand alone version too - 100% free and seems reasonably Windows like BTW If a Windows disk is mounted partitions are listed similarly - dd in any case doesn't care two hoots about file systems either - just physically copies data in the same geometry as source file / disk. Partitions in linux are shown typically as /dev/sdxn where n is the partition number. (the dd command can copy partitions, the whole disk or just the boot sector - the basic command is (run as sudo or root) dd if= of= bs=64M status=progress I don't really like easus to do or minitool partition wizard in any case - gave up using them years ago. I know this is Windows Forums but if you can learn a little bit of linux the easy way to copy partitions - just boot up a live distro and run the dd command or have a live distro that includes GPARTED -the GUI is so identically like most Windows partition managers that anybody can run it - also a live distro won't destroy your existing Windows installations. Welcome Easeus Partition Master Free!Hi thereĪ load of companies are doing this -removing features from previously free versions - Times are getting desparate !! I am saddened to find that Minitool Partition Wizard Free version 12 has removed the option to copy partitions to another drive unless you pay. ![]()
